Whenever I see a random "make your Internet faster" hack, I just ignore it and move on because it, more likely than not, is garbage. That's why I was pleasantly surprised when this gem turned up from MakeUseOf: OpenDNS actually does seem to make your Internet connection faster!

If you're a Windows user, Firefox is pretty much the best browser around. That's not a knee-jerk anti-Microsoft reaction (seriously!) - that's a cold, hard fact. But if you're still one of the 75% of Internet users with IE, rejoice because you web experience can get even better!
